Michael Toti Bio

Michael Toti is a current general business diploma student at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario. He is currently working part-time at Cabinetsmith, a division of CanSave. He has worked at CanSave doing different jobs working on both a full and part-time basis since March 2018. Currently, at Cabinetsmith, Michael has been given the duty of working in quality control at the company manufactured polyester cabinet door department. Previously, he worked the assembly line installing cabinet doors, shelves, drawers and operating quality control and packaging. Michael’s volunteer work includes working at community events at the Marten River Volunteer Fire Department for most of his life at events such as the Annual Winterfest, Pancake Breakfast, Pork BBQ and the Yard Sale. These duties included everything from setting up tables and chairs, running the bake sale, and assisting with the silent auction. In September of 2020, he began volunteering as a Youth Group Leader for high school students at Inniswood Baptist Church; his duties included organizing and leading games and activities and facilitating small group discussions.

Michael graduated with honours at St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School in Barrie, Ontario, in June 2019. During his four years at the school, he took several business courses, including Accounting, Organization Behaviour, and International Business. Michael’s business teachers offered a great opportunity to a small group of students: the Specialist High Skills Major with the subject focus on business. As part of the program, Michael did a required coop at his current job at the time, A&W Restaurant. Many great opportunities came out of this program. Michael was able to visit many businesses and gain valuable information on how companies, including Canada’s Wonderland and Medieval Times, marketed themselves to consumers. After graduating high school, Michael took a year off to work full time at the business he is currently employed at; another reason for the year off was that Michael wanted to wait to think further into what he wanted his career to look like before starting his college journey. Michael applied to many different colleges so that he would have many options to choose from; as he is the oldest child in his family, he did not know what each college fully offered. Michael accepted his offer to Georgian College and will graduate with a diploma in business in April 2022.

For Michael’s future career, he is very interested in the Real Estate Development field. For a few years, when visiting a new town or city, he noticed himself visualizing what could be done to make the area a better place to live and work. Michael’s main area of focus is mixed-use condominium development. He loves the idea that there can be amenities such as grocery stores, restaurants and services within a condominium development. Michael plans to use the leadership skills that he has gained through his post-secondary education, work, and volunteer experience to get a job in the real estate development field to help plan and share ideas for new and unique condominium developments to be built across Southern Ontario. Michael is determined to make an impact throughout his career in real estate development by creating more convenient and beautiful communities. Click the button below to view my full resume.
